It’s a symptom of not feeling like you’re worthy or deserving of asking for what you need, being afraid of being seen as weak, feeling like you have to figure it all out yourself…. All of your self-sabotage symptoms are a result of your original core trauma.. Consider, something happened to you (when you were young) where you didn’t feel you could be with the EMOTIONS you were feeling at the time.. What it meant about The WORLD.
If you subconsciously or semi-consciously prevent yourself from doing important things that matter to you and your growth, then you are self sabotaging yourself.
Say your aspire to adopt healthy lifestyle as a self care goal, but if you have unhealthy eating disorders or an inconsistent fitness regime, then your desired goal cannot be achieved.. Giving yourself a day off or resting between heavy workout is essential for self care, but postponing and purposely indulging in a lifestyle that sabotages your health isn’t beneficial to your self care goal.. Understand that there is always an underlying emotion that needs to be addressed which causes us to overindulge, to numb emotional pain and makes us avoid taking actions.. Find other ways like meditation, a walk in nature, beginning a new healthy routine or positive affirmation to shift your focus from feeling stressed and empower yourself to make small changes in lifestyle that is essential for self care.. But working for it with a plan and making consistent efforts will help you achieve it, rather than complaining or obsessing over it and staying dissatisfied.. Being overwhelmed can affect your work, health and relationships as you might feel you lack a sense of control in achieving them.. A clean and clear workplace for accomplishing short term goals with a planned routine will help you in time management and will boost your confidence that you are in charge of your life.. Negative thinking like regret, guilt, shame, worry, sadness or making yourself anxious about people and situations that cause you to dwell in the past will blind you from hoping for the best for yourself.. Stop beating yourself up and surround yourself with positive people, be your own best friend or mentor, appreciate what you have in life and make a conscious effort to not spiral down into negative thinking patterns.
